A Creative Saturday Morning

Friday night I went to sleep completely looking forward to my Saturday morning. Despite that my husband and I were hosting a Thanksgiving dinner later that evening with close friends in Milan (naturally, we had to save it for the weekend since we didn’t have time off during the work week), I had decided that I would spend the morning working on some creative projects, which is one of my favorite things to do when I have a bit of time.

Equipped with a delicious cappuccino, instrumental Christmas music playing in the background (quite possibly providing inspiration subconsciously), and all of my supplies spread out over a large blank white canvas, I started on my project. What was it? Holiday cards. Greeting cards… for me, Christmas cards. ❤

The theme that has continued to surface for me this year is simplicity. I’m just really into it at the moment  – everything about it. One of my favorite quotes by Leonardo Da Vinci, that I posted about just the other day (see “s i m p l i c i t y“) says “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.” Doesn’t that just sound lovely? So, I’m enjoying simplifying life and incorporating that theme in different areas.

Including my new card collection. I opted to use recycled kraft paper, along with simple designs adding a “pop” of color – and I’m so happy with the way they turned out!

The different designs available.

So, here they are, simple, colorful Christmas cards made from recycled paper, ready to brighten someone’s home. Sometimes it just feels so good to create.

    • Thank you! It was fun making them and the personal touch is nice for family & friends. I used printed construction paper, but wrapping paper with nice designs would work too 🙂
