If you have empty wine bottles laying around they are great for home decor/DIY projects. All you need is some yarn, a hot glue gun and a bit of patience 🙂 They’re perfect for any season, really – and especially for the fall/winter because they are just so warm and cozy looking, aren’t they?

These are really cool. And I love anything that can be done with a hot glue gun! How did you do the letters?

Thanks Cristina! The letters were actually easier than I expected – I wrote the letter I wanted in hot glue (applied directly on the yarn-wrapped bottle) and then laid the string of yarn on top of the hot glue (just do one letter at a time because the glue dries too quickly – but if you’re familiar with using a hot glue gun you’ll already know all that stuff!) 😉 I wanted thicker letters so instead of a single layer of string I did three (side by side). Hope that makes sense!

Oh, I should also add that I started the yarn/glue combo at the bottom of the bottles (using hot glue to get the first two or so rounds attached, but then used something equivalent to elmer’s glue for the majority of the yarn rounds. Then I used the hot glue gun again at the top just before the bottle neck because the rounded parts of the bottle need the heavier glue (the middle is fine without it).
